With a freshly re-founded Berlin-Brandenburg Branch of CERFA, we set out to organize the first of many Science Cafés, with the title
DATOS - DATEN - DATA
OK, there’s many “BIG-DATA”-themed events out there, but, what’s the actual role of data in our daily investigations? We’ll try to present -in an entertaining way- the role that “the costly data” (its gathering, analysis, and interpretation) plays in our work: sometimes as a solution, but perhaps sometimes as a problem…?
Café Al-Andalus offered their space (which was used as daycare during the day).
I had the honor of presenting, together with
- Jun. Prof. Juanjo Rué Perna (Freie Univesität Berlin): “Patterns in big combinatorial structures”
- Dr. Vicente Franco (International Council on Clean Transportation) “Are European cars polluting more than we think? On-road emissions vs certification data”
